Back to Reverse Engineering Binaries

It feels good to be back into reverse engineering.

I realized I stopped doing this around 2009, back when I was using tools like SoftICE, OllyDbg, IDAPro, BinDiff, Hiew, and others to work through crackmes, understand software protections, and sharpen my reverse-engineering skills.

Many years later, I’m picking it up again with Ghidra and WinDbg. Before moving into AI-assisted analysis with GhidraMCP, as shared by my friend Master Jay Turla, I want to refresh my manual reversing skills first.

This time, however, the goal goes beyond crackmes and software protection. I want to apply reverse engineering to security vulnerability research—understanding binaries, analyzing how vulnerabilities occur, and eventually identifying them myself.

Back to the basics. Back to the binaries. 🔎💻

Let's see where this journey takes me.

Recognized by NASA.GOV (June 29, 2026)

Finally got the LOR after a month of waiting. I'm honored to share that I've received a Letter of Recognition from the NASA Vulnerability Disclosure Program (VDP) for responsibly reporting a security vulnerability.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, to improving the security of website and application that support such an inspiring organization. This recognition reinforces my passion for cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and responsible vulnerability disclosure.

Here's to continuing to learn, grow, and help make the digital world more secure. 🚀🔐
